Verification is a starting point

Participating members must complete a government-ID and selfie check, but verification cannot guarantee anyone’s intentions, behavior, or safety. Keep early conversations on Kindred Spirits, move at your own pace, and trust your judgment.

Protect personal information

Do not share your home or work address, passwords, verification codes, identity documents, bank information, or other sensitive details with a match. Kindred Spirits shows only a broad location and distance band to eligible members; it does not display your exact browser location.

Avoid scams and money requests

Never send money, gift cards, cryptocurrency, investments, banking credentials, passwords, or payment codes to another member. Scam Shield checks outgoing messages for common risky patterns and may pause or block a message, but automated rules can miss scams or flag harmless wording. Be cautious when someone quickly asks to leave the service, creates an emergency, promises an investment return, or refuses reasonable verification. Report suspicious requests immediately.

Fresh verification and private-photo consent

A match may request a fresh government-ID and live-selfie check. You choose whether to complete it, and even a recent result cannot guarantee intentions or behavior. Private-photo sharing requires the receiving member’s explicit, expiring permission, metadata removal, and moderation approval. Permission may be declined or revoked at any time. Saving or redistributing another member’s private image is prohibited.

First meetings

Meet in a populated public place, arrange your own transportation, tell someone you trust where you are going, keep your phone charged, and limit alcohol or anything that affects judgment. SafeCircle can store a personal public-place plan, help you share it yourself, and record your check-ins and private post-date feedback. Kindred Spirits does not watch your location, alert your contact automatically, or dispatch help. Leave if you feel pressured or unsafe. Contact emergency services when there is immediate danger.

Report and block

Use Block to stop contact and Report for impersonation, scams, threats, hate, coercion, underage concerns, stolen images, requests for money, unwanted sexual content, or other unsafe behavior. Preserve relevant messages when it is safe to do so. Visit the Safety Center from your member account to manage blocks and reports.

Zero tolerance

Kindred Spirits prohibits minors, sexually explicit content, escort or sexual services, trafficking, exploitation, blackmail, illegal sales, harassment, and attempts to evade identity or age verification.
